Stride Rite’s Sensory Response Technology (SRT) was a multi-year innovation project to develop a new collection for early walkers, based on cutting edge research. The team included biomechanics experts, pediatric podiatrists, the internal fit team, and product team leadership, with myself charged with synthesizing the research into a new industry leading technology story. The team had varying opinions on the balance of minimal to support needed for the developing foot, and we led with the research. The gate study conducted at the Leon Root Motion Analysis Laboratory at Temple University was the most comprehensive ever conducted for this age and developmental stage. The end result was SRT, I was granted a utility patent for this technology which is still a cornerstone of the Stride Rite line architecture today.
